My morning started off being poked in the arm for bloodwork and having the dildocam shoved up my hoohah for a pelvic ultrasound, and yours?
Ugh.
The bloodwork went without issue except when I get blood taken at Boston IVF it always burns, but when I get blood taken at a lab or somewhere else it typically doesn’t. I find that weird – maybe it’s just in the skills of the Phlebo or what she uses?
Then we had my very favorite rape experience with the pelvic u/s – this was a different lady and she was much nicer and even put the screen where I could see it! She took a ton of pictures of my cervix and then my right ovary – she asked me to push down and so I did and that was WAY better than when the previous u/s technician did the pressing. She took a bunch of pictures of my right ovary and then it happened. She had trouble finding my left ovary – I don’t know why it’s such a problem (don’t know if it was because my bowel was in the way again?) but I have to assume it’s due to the close quarters down there. This one was crampy, but again – I was the one pushing so I could take a break if it hurt too much. Before, the woman just pushed and pushed and I was screaming in pain. It took a bit and some significant discomfort but she finally found it and took her pictures and we were done.
The u/s technician told me that my largest follicle was in my left ovary, but she didn’t tell me the size. I thought I saw 18 on the screen but I might have been wrong and I truly don’t know what much of that means anyways. I asked if that was normal to only have one and the size and she said yes because I’m not an IVF patient, we’re IUI and clomid.
I should know more this afternoon as I believe Nurse Karen will call with additional information and next steps. Fingers crossed things look good – I’m nervous to hear the “results”.
